Base yourself in Tehran's centre instead.

Nahj al-Balagha Park anchors Punak. The park spreads through the Farahzad valley at the quarter's green western edge, with walking paths threading the slope, while the Boostan Shopping Center draws a different crowd of visitors toward the older commercial heart of the neighbourhood. The Ashrafi Esfahani Expressway rules the traffic.

What is the history of Punak?
Punak began as a small village on the outskirts of Tehran. Wild mint, the pooneh that gave the place its name, grew through the gardens and along the Farahzad river before the capital reached this far, and only in the late twentieth century did the quarter fill with the towers and grid streets that now line the Ashrafi Esfahani Expressway. The village came first.
The city caught up with it.
