What is the history of Lademoen?
Lademoen grew as a working district. The flat ground east of central Trondheim filled with housing and industry as the city spread toward the Lade shore, and its church, Lademoen kirke, rose to serve the new streets. Older ground lay nearby.
Bakke kirke and the cloister site of Bakke kloster mark the medieval crossing of the river just to the west, while in later years the harbour sheds gave way to halls such as Rockheim, turning the quayside from cargo to culture.
