What is the history of Ulriksdal?
Ulriksdal began as a great estate. The palace, and the district with it, takes its name from Prince Ulrik, son of Queen Ulrika Eleonora and brother of Charles XII, and the forerunner of its orangery, now the palace's sculpture museum, went up in the 1660s. Court life shaped the grounds.
Ulriksdals slottsteater Confidencen, Sweden's oldest rococo theatre, was raised among them, while the farm recorded at the Statarmuseet, Överjärva gård worked the land, and the park held its place in Solna kommun and Stockholm County through the suburban growth of eastern Sweden.
