Hospital and Institutet visitors have both on the doorstep. The Elite Hotel Carolina Tower is the one exception to the Eugeniavägen boundary line. Along Norra stationsgatan, rows of owner-occupied and rental blocks by Einar Mattsson, Veidekke, Ikano, and Familjebostäder make up the Stockholm side, close to the inner city.

About Hagastaden
What are the main landmarks in Hagastaden?
The Norra tornen, two tall towers built by Oscar Properties at Torsplan, are the district's landmark, with flats above public ground floors. Nya Karolinska Solna opened fully in 2018. It stands across Eugeniavägen from the new housing blocks.
Every new street but Hagaesplanaden is named after a woman pioneer of science or teaching, among them Lise Meitner, Eva Ekeblad, and Sonja Kovalevsky.
What is the history of Hagastaden?
Most of the ground was the goods yard of Stockholm's northern station, so the project was long called Norra stationsområdet. The name Hagastaden, chosen in a public competition, was presented on 22 December 2010 and set formally on 21 June 2011, when the two towns' leaders tied a blue and yellow ribbon on the site. Aleksander Wolodarski drew the master plan.
The first flats were ready in autumn 2017, and the new hospital took its first patients in 2016.
Where is Hagastaden?
Hagastaden straddles the line between the two municipalities. Its southern part, of tall, dense housing blocks, belongs to Vasastaden in Stockholm's inner city, and its northern part to Haga in Solna. In practice the boundary runs along Eugeniavägen.
The district covers 96 hectares, including Norra stationsgatan, the Karolinska Institutet, and the Karolinska University Hospital.
