What is the history of Gröndal?
Industry arrived with the Liljeholmen freight station in the 1860s, and the working suburb that followed filled the valley with housing and works, giving Gröndal the character its name only half suggests. Brännkyrka governed it first. Gröndal belonged to the Liljeholmen municipal community inside the Brännkyrka municipality until 1913, when Brännkyrka was incorporated into the city of Stockholm.
