Nakhimov Raion suits a stay among Sevastopol's shipyards and war memorials. Its quarters lie on two sides of the city: Apollonivka, Prospekt Peremohy and Khrulova are among those on the Korabelna side, and Hollandiia and Uchkuivka on the Northern side. The Sevastopol winery, a champagne maker, stands at the heart of the raion near the city's railway station.
The city zoo opened here in 2012.

What are the main landmarks in Nakhimov Raion?
Many of Sevastopol's best-known military memorials are here. Memorial complexes crown the Malakhov Kurgan. On the Northern side, the Brotherhood Cemetery holds soldiers killed in the First and Second Defences of Sevastopol.
Across the raion, memorials remember those lost on the battleship Novorossiysk and the submarines Komsomolets and Kursk. Sevmorzavod, the city's largest enterprise, keeps a complex of dry docks, among them the Northern Dock, the largest on the Black Sea.
What is the history of Nakhimov Raion?
The raion was formed on 25 February 1938 as the Northern Raion, on the Northern side of the city. It was renamed Nakhimov in October 1954. In 1957 it was merged with the Korabelny Raion of the Korabelna side.
The Black Sea branch of Moscow State University opened on the Korabelna side in 2000. Until 7 September 2023 the raion also held 14 settlements, one of them an urban-type settlement, which now belong to Bakhchysarai Raion. Russia has occupied Nakhimov Raion since February 2014.
