What are the main landmarks in Overtown?
Overtown's landmarks tell its African-American story. The Greater Bethel AME Church has served the neighborhood's congregation for generations, one of the oldest Black churches in Miami, and the Dana A. Dorsey House recalls the man who became Miami's first Black millionaire and a pillar of the district. The Ward Rooming House sheltered Black travellers barred from segregated hotels elsewhere in the city, and it survives as a small museum and gallery for the neighborhood's memory.
