Beds are scarce inside. Cypress Hills runs to houses rather than hotels, so most rooms lie west along Atlantic Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue in East New York, or over the Queens borough line to the north. Linden Boulevard heads south from there.
Following it leads toward Jamaica Bay, while the BMT Canarsie Line and the streets around Van Sinderen Avenue link the neighborhood back into the rest of Brooklyn.

Churches carry most of the landmarks. Blessed Sacrament Church and Andrews United Methodist Church stand among the houses, while the Monastery of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Joseph adds a third foundation on the same streets. Dexter Park keeps its name here.
Beyond them the ground gives way to the Cemetery Belt, the band of burial grounds that runs along the Queens borough line north of the neighborhood.

Burial grounds shaped the northern edge. The Cemetery Belt spread along the Queens borough line, and the streets of Cypress Hills filled the ground below it as East New York grew east across Brooklyn. Rail lines fixed the other limits.
The Bay Ridge Branch tracks and the BMT Canarsie Line ran through toward Van Sinderen Avenue, and the churches on these streets took shape with the housing.
