Each area has its own feel; here's who each one suits.
East End keeps almost no beds of its own, so most visitors book in Downtown Cincinnati and drive the short stretch east along Riverside Drive. Mount Adams rises just west. The Ohio River Trail threads the narrow shelf between Columbia Parkway and the bank, past frame houses and the Romanesque brick of Police Station No. 6 at the Delta Avenue corner. Choose it if you would rather wake beside the Ohio River than above a downtown parking garage.

Police Station No. 6 stands at the Delta Avenue corner of East End, a Romanesque patrol house completed in 1896 to a design by Samuel Hannaford & Sons. Brick and squat, it outlived its beat. Further west on Riverside Drive, St. Rose Church has carried its tower since 1867, and a painted high-water mark on the rear wall records how far the Ohio River has risen over it.
Older still are the frame survivors inland: the Langdon House of 1855, weatherboarded in Steamboat Gothic, and the Carpenter Gothic front of Houston House on Mead Avenue.
What is the history of East End?
East End held Cincinnati's boat yards. The riverside villages of Fulton and Pendleton grew below the hill through the steamboat decades, and the Moselle was built in the Fulton yard before her boilers burst in 1838. Spencer Township Hall rose on Eastern Avenue in 1860 as the seat of a township Cincinnati later swallowed.
Fulton-Presbyterian Cemetery predates every bit of it, with Presbyterian ground in use from 1794. East End Park opened in 1891 for a single American Association season.

East End runs east from Downtown Cincinnati to Columbia-Tusculum along the north bank of the Ohio River, pinned under the Columbia Parkway hillside.
