What are the main landmarks in Pleasant Ridge?
Pleasant Ridge keeps its landmarks at the crossing of Montgomery Road and Ridge Avenue, where the settlement first grew as Cross Roads. A two-story building on that corner served as a stagecoach hotel in the nineteenth century. The Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church stands on Montgomery Road beside a burial ground that opened as a community cemetery in 1792 and passed to the church's trustees decades later.

What is the history of Pleasant Ridge?
Pleasant Ridge began as McFarland's Station, a fortified settlement the land agent John McFarland built in 1795 on ground bought from John Cleves Symmes. James Wood bought 660 acres from him in 1809, and after his death the land was divided among his heirs and the community platted. A post office followed in 1832.
The village incorporated in 1891, then voted for annexation and became part of Cincinnati in 1912.
