What are the main landmarks in West End?

The Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal is the landmark most visitors name here, a rail station turned into museums at the district's western side. Betts House stands a few streets off, a survivor of the residential West End. Bank Street Grounds is on the list as history rather than as a place to visit, a ballpark from the era when Cincinnati baseball played in the West End.

The Taft Museum of Art and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center sit east of the district, in downtown Cincinnati. Queensgate holds warehouses, not monuments.

What is the history of West End?

A large residential neighborhood came first. The mid-20th century took most of it: highway interchanges were driven through the housing, and the cleared ground became the industrial park known as Queensgate. Betts House came through that period intact.

Bank Street Grounds did not, and the baseball it hosted left the West End along with the blocks around it. What stands here is the remainder of one of the 52 neighborhoods of Cincinnati, Ohio.
