Next door the Duke Energy Building holds the southwest corner of Fourth and Main, an 18-floor tower finished in 1929 for the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company and not a contributing property. The First National Bank Building of 1904 stands west of it at 105 East 4th Street.
Two blocks on, the Ingalls Building of 1903 was the first reinforced concrete skyscraper. Its corner is Fourth and Vine. The Taft Museum of Art and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center lie blocks away, outside the district.

John Russell Pope worked with Garber & Woodward on the 269-foot headquarters the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company finished beside the row in 1929. West Fourth Street Historic District, listed in 1976 on the far side of Vine Street, takes in a far longer stretch of the same thoroughfare.
