What is the history of Comuna 13?
Comuna 13 carries the name and legacy of General Manuel Belgrano. Its Belgrano neighbourhood grew up around a colonial church and briefly held the national government in the nineteenth century, later filling with the villas that now house the Sarmiento Historic Museum and the Museum of Spanish Art Enrique Larreta, while Núñez and Colegiales spread across the plain as the railway reached the northern edge of Buenos Aires. The barrios merged into one commune.
