What is the history of Buenos Aires?
Buenos Aires took shape in the early twentieth century. Rural homes and wooded slopes east of central Medellín drew settlers from the towns of Antioquia, and the barrios spread outward along Calle 49, the corridor better known as Ayacucho. The name itself nods to the cool, comfortable air that pulled those first families up the hillside.
Later the electric tram reached the same street, tying a working neighbourhood to the heart of the city.
