What is Offenbach known for?

Offenbach sits immediately outside Frankfurt, close enough that the two run together on the ground and far enough that it keeps its own name, its own centre and its own administration. The longer form, Offenbach-am-Main, names the river. The German Leather Museum and the Klingspor Museum are the two collections that give the city a claim of its own.

A stay here is usually a stay in the Frankfurt area, and the city works as a base on those terms. Hessen contains both.

The water keeps the air damp through the cold months, and the flat ground along it warms quickly once the year turns, which is when the riverside walk is worth the trip out from the centre.
