What are the main landmarks in In den Heimgärten?
The street In den Heimgärten, which gives the estate its name, runs down the middle of the horseshoe and meets the cross street Weingartsberg. At their junction lies the Weingartshof, a rectangular square. The house at Im Gillesbachtal 28 is protected as a monument in its own right.

What is the history of In den Heimgärten?
In den Heimgärten was built as a housing estate between 1926 and 1929. On 18 March 2005 a city statute, made under section 5 of the North Rhine-Westphalia monument protection law of 1980, declared the estate and its green space a conservation area. It was the first conservation area that the city of Aachen designated.
