What is Iida known for?

That is policy, not heritage. It sits oddly beside the Ogasawara Museum and the Iida City Kawamoto Kihachiro Puppet Museum, and the combination is a fair summary of how the city presents itself: an old settlement record on one side, a forward commitment on the other. Tenryū-kyō predates all of it.
