Adler holds most of the district's rooms, close to the Black Sea shore and the Arboretum in Adler. Guesthouses crowd the Adler shore. The Imeretinskaya Lowland carries the newer blocks built for the 2014 Winter Olympics, flat ground beside the sea and a short ride from Sochi Airport, while the mountain half of the district keeps its beds up the Mzymta valley at Krasnaya Polyana.

The Arboretum in Adler gathers subtropical plantings on the coastal plain, the district's best-known green space. Adler keeps its water tower. Saint Sargis church, the Museum of History of the Adlersky District, the Monument to Aleksandr Bestuzhev in Adler, the Dacha of Count Solovyov and the Adler port station building trace the settlement's earlier life beside the Black Sea.

What is the history of Adlersky City District?
Adler was a town in its own right before the city district took shape around it in 1961. The older layers show through: a common grave holds eleven Russian soldiers killed in the Russo-Turkish war, and Soviet airmen and infantry killed in the fighting of the Second World War lie in further graves across the settlement. Then the games came to Adler.
The 2014 Winter Olympics put the coastal cluster on the Imeretinskaya Lowland and the mountain cluster above Krasnaya Polyana, and the district has carried both since.
