Joker Marchant Stadium and Henley Field Ball Park sit away from the water, and rooms near them suit a stay built around a game rather than around the lakes. The RP Funding Center stands on that side too. Seventy-five square miles of city spread around all of it, so the choice of a base decides how much driving a visit involves, and the run out to Lakeland Linder International Airport or onto I-4 is easier from the edges than from the middle.
Tampa lies west along that road. Orlando is the other way, and a night here works as well for the swans and the campus as it does for a day out toward either city.
