The church of Ladislaus of Gielniów is the main built landmark of Kabaty. A monument to Ján Esterházy also stands among the apartment estates. The wooded park and palace grounds of Natolin edge the neighbourhood, giving Kabaty a green boundary that the tower blocks back onto.

Kabaty took its modern shape as a residential quarter of Warsaw's Ursynów district. Its older, low-rise core survives as Stare Kabaty in the east, while apartment estates spread across the rest of the neighbourhood through the twentieth century. The extension of the M1 line to Kabaty bound these blocks to the wider city.
