It sat outside Warsaw until 1951. Nowodwory was a village near the city through the partitions, the First World War, the Second Republic, the Second World War and the first years of the People's Republic, in the Jabłonna commune of the old Warsaw county. The city took it in 1951.
It came in with several neighbouring villages and became an estate right on the boundary, and only the further correction of 1976 pushed the city limit away from it. Białołęka is the district now.

A backwater of the Vistula fixed the place. Franciszek Czajkowski's book of 1785 puts the manor farm half a quarter of a mile to the summer west, standing beside a Vistula backwater, which is the earliest description of the ground. A school served it between the wars.
A seven-class public elementary school stood at Nowodwory when the village was of middling size. The name came in three forms. Nowy Dwór, Nowo-Dwory and Nowodwory all record the same place.
What is the history of Nowodwory?
A priest wrote the first description. Franciszek Czajkowski's book of 1785 gives Nowydwór as the manor farm of Mister Ossoliński, voivode of Podlasie, half a quarter of a mile to the summer west, lying beside a Vistula backwater. It was a village and a folwark.
Nowodwory, earlier Nowy Dwór and Nowo-Dwory, was both, which is the usual pairing on the Mazovian plain. Nothing changed its status for a century and a half. Through the partitions, the First World War, the Second Republic, the Second World War and the early People's Republic it stayed a village outside Warsaw in the Jabłonna commune of the Warsaw county.
Between the wars it was middling in size. A seven-class public elementary school stood there, which the interwar records name among the village's few institutions. Warsaw absorbed it in 1951.
It came in with several neighbouring villages as an estate on the city boundary, and the border correction of 1976 moved the limit further out and left Nowodwory well inside.
