Służew divides into two named halves on the register: Służew in the west, inside Mokotów, and Stary Służew in the east, inside Ursynów, which is the first thing to settle when booking. The metro serves both. The Służew station of the M1 line runs under the area, and the estates of Służew nad Dolinką and Służewiec-Prototypy lie within reach of it.

What are the main landmarks in Służew?
The 19th-century buildings run to St. Catherine Church and Krasiński Palace, joined by two decommissioned fortifications designated Fort IIA and Fort III. Learning takes up space too. Campuses of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and Łazarski University stand in the area, and the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences keeps premises here as well.
The Służew station of the M1 line ties all of it to the Warsaw Metro.
What is the history of Służew?
The 19th century left the clearest marks on Służew, in St. Catherine Church, Krasiński Palace and the two forts that were later decommissioned. No founding date appears. Fort IIA and Fort III survive as fortifications rather than as working defences, and the estate called Służew Fort carries the same word into the names of the modern housing.
Stary Służew is the eastern of the two areas the name now covers.
