Not every neighbourhood fits every trip — here's what each one is good for.
The three phases do not feel alike. Blocks at the A end stand nearest Otoka and the Olimpijski Bazen Otoka, while the C end runs west toward Stup and the open ground before Ilidža. Beds are flats, not hotels.
What makes the estate workable for a visitor is the corridor east toward Baščaršija, which lines up the far side of Sarajevo along one straight run.

Landmarks here sit at the edges. Olimpijski Bazen Otoka, the swimming complex at the Otoka end, is the closest large public building, and the Church of the Assumption in Stup stands west along the corridor. The Sarajevo Tunnel lies further out again on the Ilidža side, well beyond the estate's own courts.

Phases, not streets, ordered the build. Alipašino polje came out of Sarajevo's late-socialist expansion westward, and the work was set out in three phases labelled A, B and C. Six local communities sit inside them: A-I, A-II, B-I, B-II, C-I and C-II. High-rise towers went up beside mid-rise slab blocks, grouped around internal pedestrian courts and the local centres that face the corridor.
Where is Alipašino polje?
The estate fills a stretch of western Novi Grad: Otoka lies at one end, while the road past Stup runs on toward Ilidža.
