Yonge Street decides it. The old corridor runs through Newmarket as it always has, and a room near it puts the town's market origins, its shops and its catalogued houses within a walk rather than a drive. That is the core choice.
Doane House, Bonshaw House and Dawson Manor sit among the recorded buildings. Newmarket is small enough that a single walk covers most of the older ground, which is not true of the suburban municipalities around it. Prospect Street and Millard Avenue offer the quiet version.
Both carry addresses recorded individually, and staying there trades immediate access to the corridor for streets where the older stock of the town is easiest to read on foot. Lydia Street works the same way. Schmidt House and the Levi Rogers House are on the same inventory.
Davis Drive is the practical end.
