Torrent Avinguda changes the calculation. A room near either metro station puts the centre of Valencia within a ride of a few minutes, and that is the practical reason to sleep in Torrent rather than in the city it belongs to, since the beds here answer to a metropolitan municipality rather than to tourism. Torrent's old quarter takes up little ground.
Streets around the Castell-Palau dels Aguilar and the church of the Assumption hold what the town had before the metropolitan area reached it. The Museo Comarcal de L'Horta Sud fixes a second choice. Beds near it suit anyone whose interest is the comarca rather than the capital, with the Church of Our Lady of Montserrat and the Church of Saint Louis Bertrand inside the same few streets.
Aldaia is the third option. The Museo del Palmito de Aldaia and the Església de l'Anunciació d'Aldaia give that neighbour its own subject, and a bed there keeps the same metro corridor into Valencia while stepping off Torrent's busier avenues. None of it lies far from the rest.
The Monastery of the Immaculate, Torrent and the església del Salvador i Mare de Déu de la Salette both fall inside the municipality, so the choice comes down to whether a visitor wants the station at the door or a quieter street.

Torrent's record starts with a building, not a date. The Castell-Palau dels Aguilar is the oldest thing standing in Torrent, a fortified palace whose form belongs to a period when the settlement answered to a lord rather than to the metropolitan area of the city of Valencia. Parishes came next.
Church of Our Lady of El Olivar and the church of the Assumption anchor the devotional layer, and the Monastery of the Immaculate, Torrent puts an enclosed community inside the same town.
