Val-de-Marne keeps attractions of its own. The musée d'Art contemporain du Val-de-Marne and the Exploradôme stand on this side of the boundary, and the Musée Fragonard d'Alfort is not much further out.
If you want swimming rather than sightseeing, the Piscine Joséphine-Baker and the Piscine Roger-Le-Gall are both close, with the Centre sportif Alain-Mimoun behind them. None of it takes an hour.

Ground this near the capital was never going to stay open, and the commune ended up among the most built-over in Val-de-Marne. Across the water the record runs older. The Château de Bercy and the Église Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité de Bercy hold the name of a settlement that existed long before the Accor Arena rose beside them, while the Église Saint-Médard, Saint-Éloi and the Église Sainte-Anne-de-la-Butte-aux-Cailles mark parishes of the same city.
Later phases left plainer work. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Sagesse and the Church of the Holy Spirit belong to a denser period of building along this reach of the Seine. Institutions took up the same ground afterwards.
