One street runs the length of it. Ulica Stradomska is both the main axis and the through route of Stradom, and everything in the area sits along it. Its old shape was a river bend.
Stradom lay between the Planty and the bed of the Stara Wisła, with the Vistula's knee closing it west, south and east against Kazimierz along what are now the planty Dietlowskie, and an arm of the Rudawa closing the north. Water made it marshy. The ground flooded from the Vistula often.

About Stradom
What are the main landmarks in Stradom?
It is part of a national monument. Stradom was recognised in 1994 as a Pomnik historii together with the Stare Miasto, Wawel, Kazimierz, Piasek, Podgórze and Nowy Świat, which is Poland's highest heritage designation. Its boundary is a former riverbed.
The planty Dietlowskie run where the Stara Wisła did, separating Stradom from Kazimierz. A garden gave the first record. The one Stanisław Czaja gave to the church of Saint Stanislaus at Skałka is what the 1378 mention concerns.
What is the history of Stradom?
The first mention is a court entry and a gift. Stradom appears in 1378 in the phrase pro wlneracione cuiusdam mulieris de Stradomia, and in the same year queen Elżbieta confirmed the donation of a garden lying here. A citizen of Kraków gave it.
Stanisław Czaja made the gift to the church of Saint Stanislaus at Skałka, which is the earliest thing recorded about the place. Water defined it for centuries. Stradom lay between the Planty and the bed of the Stara Wisła, with the knee of the Vistula separating it from Kazimierz on three sides and an arm of the Rudawa on the fourth, and the ground was marshy and often flooded.
Heritage status came in 1994. Stradom was recognised as a Pomnik historii along with the Stare Miasto, Wawel, Kazimierz, Piasek, Podgórze and Nowy Świat.
