Beds are concentrated there rather than spread across the municipality, which matters in a city that covers nearly a hundred and forty-five square kilometres. Bentlage is the other choice. Kloster Bentlage and the Museum Kloster Bentlage share the same monastery ground, and a stay out that way puts the cloister and its exhibition at the start of a morning rather than at the end of a day worked outward from the centre.
Families weigh the zoo. The NaturZoo Rheine is the one attraction here that fills a whole day, and a base chosen for it will suit children better than a room picked for the Falkenhof-Museum. Steinfurt district spreads out around it.
Rheine is the largest city in that district, so anyone touring the smaller Münsterland towns does better booking here and driving out than looking for rooms village by village.

Once in the city, the Falkenhof-Museum, the Josef-Winkler-Haus and Herz-Jesu-Kirche are a short walk apart, while Kloster Bentlage and the NaturZoo Rheine sit far enough out that most visitors drive between them.
