Poniente-Sur is the south-western district of Córdoba, held between the railway line and the Guadalquivir.

About Poniente Sur

Where to stay in Poniente Sur

The right area depends on your trip — here's what each neighbourhood is best for.

Avenida Conde de Vallellano and Avenida República Argentina carry the eastern side of Poniente-Sur, and that is the side to stay on. From there the Guadalquivir is a short walk and the puente de San Rafael puts the old city across the water, while the western half of the district runs out toward the ronda de Poniente and the Avenida Mozárabes with nothing much to walk to. The railway closes the north.

About Poniente Sur

What are the main landmarks in Poniente Sur?

Two bridges mark the ends of the river frontage. The puente de San Rafael sits at the eastern end and the Puente de Andalucía at the western, and between them the Guadalquivir forms the whole southern boundary of Poniente-Sur as the city defines it. Avenida del Corregidor runs behind that line.

What is the history of Poniente Sur?

The boundary is written in roads. Córdoba defines Poniente-Sur south of the railway between the ronda de Poniente and Avenida Mozárabes, west of Mozárabes and República Argentina, north of the Guadalquivir between its two bridges, and east of the ronda again. Four lines, one district.

It is one of ten.

Where is Poniente Sur?

Poniente-Sur covers the south-western zone of Córdoba, with the Guadalquivir along the south and the railway line along the north.
