Lohikoski, Jyväskylä — Area Guide & Where to Stay

The local landmark is the church. Lohikosken kirkko stands as the district's own waymark, the building that gives Lohikoski its identity on the northern side of Jyväskylä. Beyond it the streets are residential.

For the city's wider draws you head toward the centre, a short hop south past districts such as Seppälä in this part of central Finland.

Jyväskylä grew out from its lakeside centre, and the northern grounds came into the city's reach as it expanded. Lohikoski developed there as a settled residential quarter, taking its place among the northern districts of the city alongside neighbours like Seppälä and Tourula. Its own parish church anchored the area.

Lohikosken kirkko gave the district a fixed point of its own.

North of the centre is where it sits. Lohikoski takes up part of the northern side of Jyväskylä in central Finland, one of the residential quarters that wrap around the inner city, with Seppälä lying to its east and Tourula closer toward the middle. The wider setting is lakeland.
