Where to stay in Tourula
The right area depends on your trip. Here's who each one suits — pick the place, then the hotel.
Tourula is an old working quarter on the eastern side of Jyväskylä, a district of former factory streets where hotels are few. Beds are scarce here. The ridge of Vesilinna rises just to the west, with Galleria Ratamo showing art in the old railway buildings and the Taulumäen kirkko close by, a quiet base near the rail edge of the city.
The district suits you if you want an offbeat eastern footing in central Finland, near the galleries and the Keski-Suomen luontomuseo yet away from the centre of Jyväskylä.
