One grave marks the ground. Vapaamuurarin hauta lies out on the peninsula, and the older presence is Hatanpää Manor itself, the estate that gave the district its name and whose land once reached from Härmälä to Sääksjärvi and Nekala. Pyhäjärvi does the rest.

What is the history of Hatanpää?
The manor came before the district. Hatanpää Manor held ground running from Härmälä as far as Sääksjärvi and Nekala, and the city bought that land in 1913, though the area only passed into Tampere administratively in 1920. The name stayed with the point.
