What is the history of Hatanpää?
The manor came before the district. Hatanpää Manor held ground running from Härmälä as far as Sääksjärvi and Nekala, and the city bought that land in 1913, though the area only passed into Tampere administratively in 1920. The name stayed with the point.
Hatanpää has belonged to the city ever since.

The point runs out into Pyhäjärvi, with Viinikanlahti Bay along its northern side and Vihilahti Bay to the south, and central Tampere behind it.
