Didube is mostly a residential and transport district, so it holds few hotels of its own. Its pull for a visitor is practical: the metro and the marshrutka station make it an easy base for reaching the rest of Tbilisi and heading out to western Georgia. Trade fairs at Expo Georgia and events at the Tbilisi Sports Palace draw some short stays here.
Anyone after sightseeing or nightlife will do better in the central districts downstream. Book here for connections, not quiet.

What are the main landmarks in Didube?
The district's biggest draws are its event grounds: Expo Georgia hosts the city's trade fairs, and the Tbilisi Sports Palace stages concerts and matches under one large roof. For museums, the Georgia State Silk Museum keeps its collection near the railway, while the Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts guards Georgia's medieval texts. The Georgian State Museum of Theatre, Music, Cinema and Choreography sits within reach of the same area.
Churchgoers can find the Church of the Theotokos of Iveron in Nadzaladevi just north, and the medieval Lurji Monastery a short ride south. The Tbilisi Zoo lies nearby.
What is the history of Didube?
Didube grew up as a northwestern suburb of Tbilisi, strung along the road and railway that left the old city. It industrialized under Soviet rule. Apartment blocks and factories filled the district through the 20th century, packing it into one of the city's dense working quarters.
In 1966 the first line of the Tbilisi Metro opened between Didube and Station Square, making the district a northwestern terminus of the new network. It later became Tbilisi's main gathering point for intercity minibuses.
Where is Didube?
Didube sits in the northwest of Tbilisi, on the right bank of the Mtkvari. It borders Nadzaladevi to the north, while the older quarter of Chughureti stretches downstream along the river toward the city center and the central railway station. Akaki Tsereteli Avenue is its main artery.
