Its pull for a visitor is practical: the metro and the marshrutka station make it an easy base for reaching the rest of Tbilisi and heading out to western Georgia. Anyone after sightseeing or nightlife will do better in the central districts downstream. Book here for connections, not quiet.

What is the history of Didube?
Didube grew up as a northwestern suburb of Tbilisi, strung along the road and railway that left the old city. It industrialized under Soviet rule. Apartment blocks and factories filled the district through the 20th century, packing it into one of the city's dense working quarters.
In 1966 the first line of the Tbilisi Metro opened between Didube and Station Square, making the district a northwestern terminus of the new network. It later became Tbilisi's main gathering point for intercity minibuses.
