The old University of Macau campus above the roofs is the other fixed point.

Cheok Ka Village predates almost everything around it. Settlement here goes back more than three centuries, which makes it both the oldest village on Taipa and the only ancient one still standing on the island. The Chinese name 卓家村 has held through that whole span, as have Kuan Tai Temple and Tin Hau Temple.
