Areia Preta carries the largest cluster of towers, with the Portas do Cerco crossing a short ride up the avenue. Fai Chi Kei faces the water along Avenida Marginal do Lam Mau, where rooms are plainer and quieter than anything in Sé.
Iao Hon suits you if border traffic and market kitchens matter more than a view. Rooms are scarce in parts. Everything south is a short taxi hop.

Portas do Cerco marks the northern edge, the land crossing between Macau and Zhuhai. Traffic through it shapes the streets that feed it. Areia Preta spreads southeast of that gate as industrial and residential ground, while Fai Chi Kei holds the working waterfront on the western shore along Avenida Marginal do Lam Mau and Rua da Doca Seca.
There is no cathedral quarter here. The Historic Centre of Macau, with Senado Square at its heart, lies south of the parish boundary.
What is the history of Nossa Senhora de Fátima?
Our Lady of Fátima gave the parish its name, a Portuguese devotion fixed to ground at the far north of the Macau Peninsula. Water covered much of it. Fai Chi Kei was a sandbank off the shore before reclamation joined it to the peninsula, and the parish went on growing outward in the same way.
Portas do Cerco marks the land boundary with Zhuhai, and Iao Hon and Areia Preta filled in as the quarters that traffic through the gate needed. Macau passed to Chinese rule in 1999.
