What are the main landmarks in Ká Hó Village?
The village itself is the visit. An old cluster of Hakka households on Coloane makes up the whole of it, and the lanes stop where Ká Hó Bay opens to the north. Hác Sá Village, the smaller neighbour, sits on the same island.
Everything here is walked, and the village keeps the shape that separation from the urban side of Macau left it.
What is the history of Ká Hó Village?
Hakka households settled here. Most of the original villagers were Hakka, and Ká Hó Village is counted among the old settlements of Coloane, far enough from the urban side of Macau to keep a rhythm of its own. That distance later told against it.
The village thinned as villagers drifted away, one household at a time. The Chinese name 九澳村 stays in use.
Where is Ká Hó Village?
Ká Hó Village sits at the northeastern corner of Coloane, one of Macau's outlying islands, with Ká Hó Bay (九澳灣) closing its northern side.
