Millvale offers no lodging of its own; its blocks are townhomes and small brick houses on the slope above Beekman Street. Beekman Street is not a hotel street. Anyone booking for the Mill Creek industrial corridor does better up the hill in Clifton, off the Hopple Street exit of I-75, or downtown by the Ohio River. Camp Washington sits closer still, just across the freight tracks.
You gain parking and quiet on the Beekman Street blocks; you give up the walk to anything.

About Millvale
What are the main landmarks in Millvale?
Millvale gathers at the Millvale Recreation Center, 3303 Beekman Street, a Cincinnati Recreation Commission site with a gym, an outdoor pool and courts. Beekman Street runs the length of the place. Ethel M. Taylor Academy stands at 1930 Fricke Road, a Community Learning Center finished in 2007 whose gymnasium was the first the neighborhood had ever owned.
Low workshops and freight yards fill the blocks that drop toward Mill Creek.
What is the history of Millvale?
Millvale, one of the 52 neighborhoods of Cincinnati, came into the city with the annexation of Cumminsville in 1873, when the valley floor held small works and workers' houses. The Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority opened its Millvale project in 1954 to tenants of any race, chiefly to rehouse Black families displaced by clearance in the West End, and few white tenants came. Garfield School closed.
Ethel M. Taylor, president of the community council, campaigned in 1957 for a school of Millvale's own and won it. Her name went on the building that replaced it.
