What are the main landmarks in La Magdalena?
The Iglesia de la Magdalena gives the barrio its name. Palacio de los Muñices and the Casa del Marqués de Campo Alegre stand in the same few streets, with the Ermita de San José among them and the Casa solariega de los Narváez keeping an eighteenth-century doorway. The Convento del Carmen de Puerta Nueva is now a law faculty.

The church names the barrio. Córdoba puts La Magdalena in the western part of the Centro district, bounded by San Andrés-San Pablo and San Lorenzo to the north and by Santiago and San Pedro to the south, which makes it one of the smallest inner barrios. The Narváez house dates from the eighteenth century.
