What are the main landmarks in Seac Pai Van?
No monument anchors Seac Pai Van. The name belonged to the water first, the channel between Taipa and Coloane, and the ground on that side of the island carries reclamation rather than anything old enough to be listed. Sightseeing runs outward.
Ká Hó Village holds the same northeastern corner of Coloane, Hác Sá Village lies to the southeast, and Lai Chi Vun keeps to the southwestern shore, all of them inside the parish of São Francisco Xavier.
What is the history of Seac Pai Van?
Water divided this ground. Taipa and Coloane stood apart as separate islands, and the Seac Pai Van was the water between them until reclamation filled the channel and joined the two, a crossing complete in 2005. The name outlived the bay.
Coloane kept its scattered settlements through all of it, Ká Hó Village and Hác Sá Village among them, while the made ground on the Cotai side arrived in a single programme rather than growing village by village.
