Łacina keeps its beds in apartment blocks rather than a hotel strip, with Osiedle Polanka set around a small fountain square and Osiedle Zielony Taras running along Milczańska. The tram stop is called Łacina. Rondo Rataje holds the western corner, where the Rataje bus station and the tram interchange put the old core of Poznań a short ride across the Warta, while ulica abpa Baraniaka closes the north with Jezioro Maltańskie just beyond.
Pick it if you want Posnania and the lake shore on foot rather than the Old Market Square.

What are the main landmarks in Łacina?
Łacina sets a shopping centre and a windmill within a few streets of each other. Posnania, at ulica Pleszewska 1, opened in 2016 on the ground between ulica Kórnicka and ulica Bolesława Krzywoustego. Wiatrak holenderski, the brick mill tower at Milczańska 2, went up from 1910 to raise water for the market garden of Franciszek Rybak, and entered the register of monuments on 9 March 1993.
The tower predates every block around it. Osiedle Polanka gathers around its fountain square.
What is the history of Łacina?
Łacina grew out of market gardens and a factory floor. Osiedle Polanka went up partly over the site of the Agroma farm-machinery works at the end of the twentieth century and the start of the twenty-first, and zoning plans for Rataje-Łacina followed in 2006 and 2009. The area unit dates from 2008, drawn for the System Informacji Miejskiej, and it is formally not an osiedle.
Galeria Malta traded from 2009 at the ulica abpa Baraniaka crossing with ulica Jana Pawła II. Demolition finished in 2025. An earlier Łacina was the suburb to the west named Święty Roch.
