Choose the southern bank if you want the shortest way back into the centre of Poznań.

Jezioro Maltańskie fills the middle of the district, and the wooded ground beyond its eastern end runs on toward Poznań Nowe Zoo and the rails at Kobylepole train station. Kobylepole gives its name to the Osiedle Antoninek-Zieliniec-Kobylepole unit that Malta reaches into at its eastern limit. Osiedle Maltańskie carries the lake's name. The southern shore looks across to Rataje and Chartowo, the northern to Osiedle Warszawskie.
What is the history of Malta?
The church of Saint John of Jerusalem Outside the Walls stands at the western end of Jezioro Maltańskie, and the Komandoria beside it carries the name of the commandery that once held this ground. That commandery sat outside the walls. Malta appears on the city's own map as an area unit of the System Informacji Miejskiej, spread across five auxiliary units including Osiedle Warszawskie-Pomet-Maltańskie, Osiedle Rataje and Osiedle Chartowo.
Kobylepole kept a station of its own out at the eastern edge.
