Ławica keeps its rooms beside a runway rather than a square. The cluster nearest Poznań-Ławica Airport sits off ulica Bukowska a short walk from the terminal, which suits an early departure or a car picked up on arrival. Ulica Złotowska is the older side.
Along it the surviving farm buildings of the village stand among newer single-family streets, while Osiedle Bajkowe fills the ground south of ulica Bukowska with flats and terraces. Ławica's built-up streets lie some seven kilometres west of the Old Market Square, and buses rather than trams make the run.

About Ławica
What are the main landmarks in Ławica?
Ławica gathers its monuments along ulica Bukowska rather than around a square. A sandstone block with a bronze plate faces the old terminal there, the Pomnik Zdobywców Lotniska Ławica, unveiled on 6 January 1984, sixty-five years to the day after the airfield was stormed. West of it, Tor Poznań runs a 4.083 km lap built between 1975 and 1977 over the airport's disused runways and crossing the boundary into Przeźmierowo.
Automobilklub Wielkopolski runs it. The Church of the Epiphany stands over the older streets at Miastkowska 128, its bell tower free of the nave.
What is the history of Ławica?
Ławica enters the record in 1400, when the burgrave of Poznań went to court on behalf of a peasant of the royal village over a horse. Commissioners raised some thirty boundary mounds in 1473 to separate it from Junikowo and the deserted Ławiczka Skórzewska. Prussia took the village in 1793.
A station called Poznań-Ławica opened on the Szczecin line in 1902 and an airfield followed on the village meadows in 1913, which Greater Poland insurgents stormed on 6 January 1919, carrying off several hundred German aircraft. Poznań absorbed the village in 1940.
