What is the history of Osiedle Powstań Narodowych?
Rataje entered Poznań in 1925. The village of Rataje lay south-east of the Stary Rynek, and its name comes from the rataj, the hired ploughman of the old royal farm. A planning competition ran from 1950 to 1952, the city council approved the layout in 1962, and the first flats on Osiedle Powstań Narodowych were handed over in the first half of the 1970s.
Panels came from the works beside ulica Chyżańska, which supplied blocks across Rataje before its halls came down in 2019. Nowe Miasto held the ground from 1954 to 1990.
