The gable of the eleven-storey slab that Poznań speech calls a deska carries a mural of estate faces, third in the Łączy pokolenia series that Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa Osiedle Młodych commissioned in 2021. Seventeen thousand painted squares make it up. Park Rataje opens to the south and west, second in area among Poznań's parks after the Cytadela, and its rebuilt Średzka Kolej Powiatowa halt keeps a steam locomotive and a restaurant car.

What is the history of Osiedle Powstań Narodowych?
Rataje entered Poznań in 1925. The village of Rataje lay south-east of the Stary Rynek, and its name comes from the rataj, the hired ploughman of the old royal farm. A planning competition ran from 1950 to 1952, the city council approved the layout in 1962, and the first flats on Osiedle Powstań Narodowych were handed over in the first half of the 1970s.
Panels came from the works beside ulica Chyżańska, which supplied blocks across Rataje before its halls came down in 2019. Nowe Miasto held the ground from 1954 to 1990.
