What are the main landmarks in Osiedle Zwycięstwa?
Kościół Matki Bożej Zwycięskiej anchors the estate at number 123. Zygmunt Skupniewicz and Lech Sternal framed it in steel clad with ceramic brick, and a great round window of coloured glass blocks fills the front wall over the entrance. Archbishop Jerzy Stroba consecrated it in 1995.
Pływalnia Miejska Winogrady opened at 124 in 2021, and Szkoła Podstawowa nr 12 and the Osiedlowy Dom Kultury Wiktoria hold the estate's other public rooms. Concrete footings of the Zeppelin hangar survive in the green strip splitting Aleje Solidarności. The hall came down in 1945.
What is the history of Osiedle Zwycięstwa?
Fields, orchards and potato ground covered this corner of Winogrady, together with a strip of the Trójpole single-family estate that ran along ulica Lechicka as far as ulica Połabska. A 1967 resolution named it Zwycięstwa. Kombinat Budowlany Poznań-Północ raised the blocks between 1977 and 1984, last of the five Winogrady estates.
Seven more blocks and the Osiedlowy Dom Kultury Wiktoria later filled the ground by ulica Połabska. The estate answered to the Stare Miasto district until 1990 and gained its own auxiliary unit in 2000, and on 1 January 2011 that unit and Osiedle Wichrowe Wzgórze became Osiedle Nowe Winogrady Północ.
