Longquanyi District puts its beds where the Line 2 metro ends, in the Longquan subdistrict streets around Longquanyi station. Chengluo Avenue runs west from Luodai straight into Chengdu, and hotels along it serve the car plants of the Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone rather than sightseers. Luodai keeps a handful of Hakka courtyard guesthouses on its old street.
Dong'an Lake draws newer stock. Stay out here if you want peach orchards and the Longquan Mountain ridge within reach, and central Chengdu a metro ride away.

What are the main landmarks in Longquanyi District?
Longquanyi District keeps four Qing guild halls at Luodai, the Hakka town on its northern slope. The Guangdong Guild Hall and the Jiangxi Guild Hall both went up in 1746, the Huguang Guild Hall under the same Qianlong reign, and the Chuanbei Guild Hall in the Tongzhi years. China listed all four as a national protected site in 2006. Shijing Temple sits higher on Longquan Mountain, renamed in 1767 for a carved Diamond Sutra given to it.
Ten Ming tombs give Shiling its name. Archaeologists opened the Xi Wang underground palace there in 1979. Dong'an Lake Sports Park raised a saucer-roofed stadium for the 2023 Universiade.
What is the history of Longquanyi District?
Longquanyi District carries the name of a Ming post station, established in 1513 on the road east out of Chengdu. Tang officials had already governed a county here, renamed Lingchi in 742. Hakka families came later, carried in by the Qing resettlement that moved households from Huguang into Sichuan after the Ming collapse, and Luodai grew out of that movement.
Chengdu took the eastern slope in 1959. Jianyang and Huayang gave up the ground, the State Council approved the new boundary in February 1960, and Sichuan established the district that July.
Where is Longquanyi District?
Longquanyi District covers the eastern edge of the Chengdu Plain and the western flank of Longquan Mountain, with Jianyang beyond the ridge.
