Not every neighbourhood fits every trip — here's what each one is good for.
Castillo de Bil Bil is the marker most arrivals steer by, and the front it stands on carries the beds that people picture when they book a week on the Costa del Sol, with the water in front and the working streets of the municipality behind. Sand decides a lot of stays. A room on that stretch answers the reason most visitors gave for coming, though it is also the loudest part of Benalmádena in high summer and the least useful for anyone with business inland.
Arroyo de la Miel is the other half of the equation. That part of the municipality keeps Polideportivo Arroyo de la Miel and Palacio de Deportes Benalmádena, it runs on its own timetable rather than the beach's, and rooms there cost less attention as well as less walking to a supermarket. Sea Life Benalmádena and Selwo Marina matter to families choosing between the two.
Castillo Monumento Colomares gives the third option its character, a quieter base within easy reach of Torremolinos on one side and Fuengirola on the other. Choose by what the days are meant to be for.

The caves came before the town. Where is Benalmádena?
The town holds a stretch of the Costa del Sol twelve kilometres west of Málaga. Torremolinos closes the coast on one side and Fuengirola on the other, so Benalmádena works with the ground between two neighbours of the same shoreline and with the sea as its front edge. The shoreline does the framing.
Cueva de los Botijos and Cueva de la Zorrera belong to the same municipality as the beach hotels, which says something about how much ground the name covers.

Nearly all arrivals reach Benalmádena on that road.
